This fellowship consists of six months of breast imaging, in addition to three months of CT, six weeks of MRI, and six weeks of ultrasound. The hospital performs 60,000 mammograms, 500 preoperative needle localizations, 150 stereotactic biopsies, and 1400 breast sonograms and sonographically-guided breast biopsies anually. The fellow will be actively involved in the performance of procedures, as well as in the interpretation of examinations. Equipment includes nine dedicated mammography units and a stereotactic biopsy table.

This fellowship also provides extensive clinical experience in body MRI, body CT, and ultrasound. The fellow actively participates in the performance and interpretation of studies, as well as in consultations with clinical staff.

State-of-the-art equipment includes nine multislice CT scanners, seven 1.5-T and one 3.0-T MRI scanners, three PET-CT scanners, and six ultrasound units.

Fellows will attend and participate in various clinical conferences. They are also required to participate with the faculty in clinical research projects.

On-call responsibilities at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center are shared by radiology residents and fellows (in parallel). Fellows are on call about once every 13-14 days.

Eligibility

US applicants must be board-eligible or board-certified in radiology, as well as have a License to Practice Medicine in New York State before the start of the fellowship. Foreign applicants must obtain ECFMG certification, a clinical visa, and a Limited Permit to Practice Medicine in New York State prio to the start of the fellowship.
