As a post-doc in the Sawyers lab, I am currently involved in the glioblastoma kinome re-sequencing project, a collaboration with Ingo Mellinghoff at UCLA and Matt Meyerson at the Broad Institute. We have recently analyzed close to 100 glioblastoma patient samples for genomic abnormalities such as mutations in kinases, as well as amplifications and deletions of genes. We want to learn how these alterations contribute to gliomagenesis and also how they might be targeted therapeutically.
