Research Interests:

I completed my graduate work at UCLA where my focus was on identifying and characterizing adult neural stem cells in vivo in the rodent uninjured forebrain. I joined Alex's lab in October, 2006 with an interest in studying the molecular mechanisms involved in regulation of adult neural stem cells (NSCs). Injury models provide powerful tools for understanding normal function. With that in mind, I am using different models of forebrain and spinal cord injury to investigate the role of Shh signaling components in the response of adult NSCs to injury.
