Postdoctoral Position in Membrane Protein Crystallography

The laboratory is seeking a highly motivated individual for a postdoctoral fellow position in the field of membrane protein structural biology. The individual will join a small, but highly focused, research team studying the structure and function of eukaryotic ion channels and integral membrane enzymes. (Please refer to the "projects" area of the website for more information.)

Applicants should have a strong background in X-ray crystallography, protein expression and biochemistry, experience in molecular biology, and a good publication record. The position requires a Ph.D. in a related field and less than five years of postdoctoral experience.

The successful candidate must be creative, motivated, and enjoy working independently as well as in a collaborative environment. Applicants must possess excellent communication skills and be fluent in both spoken and written English. Experience with enzyme assays or electrophysiology is a plus.

The posts will be held in the Structural Biology Program at Sloan-Kettering Institute in New York City with a competitive salary. Housing assistance can be provided. Our laboratory is equipped with state-of-the art facilities for structural biology and protein biochemistry research. We also have access to nearby synchrotron resources.

We are ideally located within a large biomedical center extending along York Avenue between 65th and 72nd Streets on Manhattan's Upper East Side. The center's institutions, which are committed to research training, include Cornell University Weill Medical College, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and The Rockefeller University, all of which contribute to a very exciting and stimulating environment for research.
