The Computing Resource Group is a team of ten IT professionals who comprise a centralized resource focusing on the informatics requirements of both MSKCC's clinical research program and the faculty and staff of the Department.

MSKCC's clinical research program is supported by the Clinical Research Database (CRDB), an institutional resource designed, built and maintained by the Computing Resource Group, which also architected and maintains the underlying hardware, operating system and database platform. The CRDB supports all MSKCC's clinical research protocols and a large number of other research data repositories, including the institutional Tissue Bank. The CRG is currently focusing on rebuilding the web interface for greater flexibility and efficiency, and aligning the CRDB with national and international standards initiatives like the National Cancer Institute's Cancer Biomedical Informatics Grid (caBIG) initiative.

Within the department, the CRG also operates a Linux computation cluster used solely by departmental faculty and staff engaged in projects with extensive computation requirements.
