Description:
This primarily outpatient elective offers an opportunity for students to gain experience in the evaluation and management of children with primary central nervous system malignancies as well as children with neurologic complications of other malignancies. Students will work under the direct supervision of the pediatric neuro-oncology attending and will participate fully in all of the seminars and conferences at Memorial Hospital in the pediatric and occasionally adult neuro-oncology departments. In addition, the students will have ample time to present cases at patient management conferences and search the literature about relevant topics. The student will also gain experience in neuroradiology and neuropathology of childhood brain tumors.
