I'm a neuropathologist interested in the pathogenic mechanism of primary brain tumors. For the past year, I've been studying the role of microRNA's in the development of glioblastomas and high grade oligodendrogliomas. Using array profiling, I've identified several microRNA's that are upregulated in human gliomas and murine glioma models. I hope to further characterize if and how these microRNA species conspire to enhance brain tumorigenicity using a variety of in vitro and in vivo modeling systems.
