Director, Center for Cell Engineering

The Center for Cell Engineering (CCE) at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center was established to foster research on cellular therapies. Our goal is to expand cell engineering research through a collaborative synergy between Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center physicians and scientists.

To attain this goal, the CCE will bring together researchers who are investigating areas that encompass stem cell engineering, immune cell engineering, cell delivery and bone marrow transplantation, the transfer and regulation of genes in human cells, and gene repair. This physician-scientist partnership draws on researchers from both Memorial Hospital and the Sloan-Kettering Institute and will ultimately allow us to devise and implement innovative clinical investigations.

Mission and Scope

Career Opportunities
Available tenure track positions

Human cells are increasingly used as therapeutic agents. An expanding array of cell types are now under investigation for the treatment of cancer, genetic disorders, infectious diseases, and degenerative disorders. Our mission is to:

    • Bring together researchers who are investigating human stem cell and immune cell engineering, including all aspects that bear on the induction, isolation, expansion, genetic modification, transplantation, and functional monitoring of therapeutic cells.

    • Strengthen the continuum between biological, translational, and clinical aspects of cell engineering and cell therapies.

    • Implement safe and potent immunotherapies and stem cell therapies targeting a wide array of hematological and solid tumors.
  • Projects
Cell engineering and immunotherapy research are key approaches to the future of cancer treatment.
  • Faculty
Our researchers investigate both immune engineering and stem cell biology.
  • Support Facilities
The Center for Cell Engineering works in conjunction with several translational labs and core facilities within both the Sloan-Kettering Institute and Memorial Hospital.
  • Selected Publications
A selection of recent publications by the Center for Cell Engineering faculty.
  • Career Opportunities
The Center for Cell Engineering is seeking innovative individuals, for tenure-track positions at the Assistant member level, with strong research accomplishments in stem cell biology, cell engineering, and/or cell therapy.
