This elective will provide a dermatology experience exploring cutaneous oncology and dermatology in the cancer patient. Students will learn to take history from patients with emphasis on history of skin cancer, sun exposure, sun sensitivity, and observe how complete skin examination is performed. They will gain familiarity with different types of skin biopsies, various treatment modalities for skin cancers and precancerous conditions, including cryotherapy, electrodessication and cutterage, primary excisions, and Mohs surgery. They will have exposure to dermoscopy and total body photography. The student will be exposed to the manifold presentations of dermatologic disorders in the cancer patient. They will have the opportunity to participate in educational activities such as dermatopathology conference and melanoma DMT conference. Student will be evaluated on a presentation at the end of the elective.

All modules except L. Two week elective only available to WMC students. All other students - four week minimum participation.
