Psychosocial support specialists -- social workers, psychologists, and psychiatrists -- are available for patients with breast cancer, their families, and their caregivers.
Social workers are available to assist with the emotional, social, and physical impact of a cancer diagnosis through individual and family counseling. We also offer the following group support program:
Weekly group for newly diagnosed adjuvant patients
Weekly group for women with advanced disease
Weekly group for young women with advanced disease
Monthly program for partners of adjuvant patients
Weekly relaxation program
Quarterly program dealing with sexual issues

A clinical psychologist and psychiatrist are also available to see patients on an individual basis.
The Memorial Sloan-Kettering Counseling Center offers individual and family counseling sessions to help patients and their families address the problems that they may encounter in adjusting to life during and after treatment.
Individual and group art therapy sessions are available to patients at the Evelyn H. Lauder Breast Center. In addition, one day a week there is an open studio for all patients and their family members.
