Meera R. Hameed
Meera R. Hameed

Meera R. Hameed is a pathologist who is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, molecular genetic pathology, and clinical cytogenetics. She comes to Memorial Sloan-Kettering from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey/Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where she had been Director of Surgical Pathology since 2001. Dr. Hameed is particularly interested in bone and soft tissue (musculoskeletal) pathology and is a member of the Soft Tissue Sarcoma Disease Management Team at Memorial Sloan-Kettering. Her research involves exploring prognostic markers in bone and soft tissue neoplasms. Dr. Hameed received her medical degree in 1979 from Kilpauk Medical College, in India. She completed her residency in pathology at Hahnemann University Hospital and fellowships in oncologic and gastrointestinal pathology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering.
