Viviane Martin
Viviane Martin, PhD
Associate Director

Viviane Martin became the Associate Director of the Office of Industrial Affairs in 2008. Her responsibilities include managing a team of six licensing professionals in support of the Center's intellectual property activities. Previously, she worked in the department for seven years as a licensing manager.

Viviane received her PhD degree in molecular and cellular pharmacology in 1996 from the Louis Pasteur University, in France, where she also earned an MS degree in biochemistry. She is the recipient of a number of awards and honors, including a Fellowship from the Philippe Foundation and the Solomon Erulkar Memorial Traveling Fellowship.

Her research experience includes a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania's Department of Pharmacology and at The Wistar Institute. She also performed industrial research for Merck Frosst in Canada and France's Servier Research Institute.

Prior to joining the Office of Industrial Affairs, Viviane served as an associate in the University of Pennsylvania's Business Development Training Program. She also worked as a marketing associate in the University's Life Sciences Licensing Group.

Viviane is a member of the Licensing Executives Society and the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM). She serves on the organizing committee of the Eastern Regional Meeting of AUTM and has been chairman since 2008.
