Lisa Placanica joined the Office of Industrial Affairs in 2009. She is a licensing professional.
Lisa recently received her PhD in pharmacology from Weill Medical College and Graduate School of Cornell University. Her distinctions include the Young Investigator Scholarship from the Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation, and Weill Cornell Medical College's Vincent du Vigneaud Award in 2008 (for Advanced Student Poster) and in 2004 (for First-Year Student Poster).
While she was a PhD candidate, Lisa worked in the laboratory of Yueming Li, of Sloan-Kettering Institute's Molecular Pharmacology and Chemistry Program; as a research assistant in the laboratory of Matthias Buck, of Case Western Reserve University's Department of Physiology and Biophysics; and as a research assistant at Athersys, in the Cell Biology Research and Development: RAGE-VT Team Laboratories of R.W. Mays and George Ekema.
Lisa is a member of the Association of University Technology Managers.
