Sharon Seiler
Sharon R. Seiler, PhD
Licensing Professional

Sharon Seiler joined the Office of Industrial Affairs in 2009 as a licensing professional.

Previously, Sharon served for ten years as vice president and senior biotechnology analyst at Punk, Ziegel & Company, an investment banking firm with a focus on healthcare. Her research there focused on companies developing products for the treatment and prevention of cancer and infectious diseases. From 1994 through 1998, she was a director and biotechnology analyst at CIBC Oppenheimer.

Sharon was awarded a PhD degree in biology in 1989 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she conducted research into RNA splicing in the laboratory of Phillip A. Sharp. From 1989 through 1994, she was a research fellow at the Sloan-Kettering Institute, conducting research into the maturation of T cells and the regulation of the immune response in the laboratory of developmental biologist Elizabeth H. Lacy. She has received a number of distinctions, including a National Research Service Award from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and a Postdoctoral Fellowship from the American Cancer Society.

Sharon is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology.
