The Rationale for Partial Nephrectomy Presented by Paul Russo, MD, FACS Runtime: 50 minutes |
 |
This activity aims to improve physician performance by addressing the knowledge gap surrounding partial nephrectomy and encouraging consideration of its potential patient benefits when appropriate. After participation, learners will be able to consider partial nephrectomy for its potential benefits over radical nephrectomy in appropriate cases. Numerous studies have shown the long-term benefit for a patient of retaining as much of the affected kidney as possible. Yet, nationally, radical nephrectomy is still practiced in many cases that might lend themselves well to partial nephrectomy.
