For women with ovarian cancer, Memorial Sloan-Kettering brings comprehensive cancer care to each patient. We have a strong commitment to providing the latest advances in surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy for our patients. By bringing together the expertise and skills of doctors across many medical disciplines, our goal is to treat all aspects of ovarian cancer.

Multidisciplinary Team Approach

Memorial Sloan-Kettering has a long-standing multidisciplinary team approach to providing the best possible screening, counseling, and treatment for ovarian cancer. Although each patient has a primary doctor who coordinates her care, all patients -- regardless of the type of treatment they receive -- are cared for by a team of experts.

The team includes:

  • surgical gynecologic oncologists
  • medical oncologists
  • radiation oncologists
  • general gynecologists
  • radiologists
  • pathologists
  • geneticists
  • nurses
  • social workers
  • a psychologist

These doctors and other healthcare professionals work to provide a full spectrum of supportive care. Our team offers counseling for women who have concerns regarding their sexual health and for women who are considering hormone replacement therapy.
