The Memorial Sloan-Kettering Library welcomes all Memorial Sloan-Kettering patients, survivors, and families who are interested in utilizing the library's information services. Web casts of recent educational programs designed to assist in adjustment to life after cancer treatment are presented on this Web site. Each lecture is tailored to a specific aspect of living well after cancer. These programs are sponsored by our Post-Treatment Resource Program.

Memorial Sloan-Kettering's gateway to online cancer-related resources provides descriptions and links to other online resources on other Web sites of use to survivors and their families. All links have been reviewed by Memorial Sloan-Kettering staff members.

Advocacy Focus

• American Association for Cancer Research
  The Survivors and Advocates section of the site provides patients, survivors and advocates clear and accurate information about research findings, support and advocacy groups, clinical trials and biomedical terminology.

• National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship
  NCCS is an advocacy organization that provides information on legislation and news items related to cancer. Connections to programs and resources for cancer survivors are provided.

• American Cancer Society (ACS)
  The ACS Cancer Survivor Network offers announcements, discussion boards, personal web pages, and library resources all addressing cancer survivorship. The site is regularly updated.

  A quarterly guide for patients and their families containing medical and healthcare information from the National Institutes of Health.

• National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship (NCCS): Cancer Survival Toolbox
  The Cancer Survival Toolbox® is a free audio program designed to help cancer survivors and caregivers develop practical skills to deal with the diagnosis, treatment and challenges of cancer.

• Cancer.Net
  The Survivorship section of Cancer.Net offers information about survivorship, rehabilitation and being your own advocate.

Young Adult Focus

• First Descents
  Using kayaking, extreme sports, and professional athletes, First Descents offers young adults with cancer outdoor experiences that will forever change their lives.

• I'm Too Young For This (i[2]y)
  i[2]y is a global support community for young adults affected by cancer who get busy living and rock on. Their mission is to improve quality of life by providing 'one-stop' access to hard to find resources, peer support and social networks.

• Lifelab
  Lifelab provides unique programs, mentors, networking and peer support free of charge to young adult survivors in New York City.

• SAM Fund
  The SAM Fund assists young adult survivors of cancer with a successful transition into their post-treatment life, by providing financial support through the distribution of grants and scholarships.

• Survivor Alert
  Survivor Alert is a nationwide awareness initiative offering information, links to many resources, and recommendations for action for young adult cancer survivors and the health professionals who treat them.

• Ulman Cancer Fund
  The Ulman Cancer Fund provides support programs, education and resources to benefit young adults and their families and friends who are affected by cancer.
