Patients with hairy cell leukemia may initially be observed without treatment. If the disease progresses, treatment options include chemotherapy, removal of the spleen, and interferon alpha, a form of immunotherapy. Some drugs can be used as a low-dose maintenance therapy. Stem cell transplants are recommended only in rare instances.

Drugs that might be used to treat Hairy Cell Leukemia are listed at the bottom of the page. Click on the drug(s) you will be receiving to get more information.
