Inadequate kidney function
Hypertension (high blood pressure)
Your risk is greater if:
- Your radiation dose was more than 23 Gy to the whole kidney.
- You also have diabetes mellitus.
Recommended Evaluation
- Complete physical examination including blood pressure yearly
- Special blood tests for kidney function yearly
- Routine urine analysis yearly
Management
- You may need to see a kidney specialist (nephrologist) if you have hypertension or abnormal test results.
