Late Effect (1st of 1)

Poor blood supply to the uterus, which can cause miscarriages, stillbirth, small and low-birth weight infants, and premature labor

Your risk is greater if:

  • You are female and had Wilms' tumor.
  • You had a higher treatment dose, especially equal to or greater than 20-30 Gy.
  • You were treated before puberty.

Recommended Evaluation

  • Possible high-level ultrasound of the pelvic area after puberty, as clinically indicated

Management

  • You may need high-risk obstetrical care during pregnancy.
