I am a radiologist with expertise in CT and MRI of the chest, abdomen, and pelvis. My clinical research involves imaging tumors of the lung, gastrointestinal, and genitourinary systems. In addition to being Director of MRI at MSKCC, I serve as Director of the Imaging Laboratory, which specializes in computational image analysis. Our laboratory focuses on imaging techniques (including 3D imaging) to assess patients' responses to therapy for all phases of drug discovery. We analyze techniques involving CT, MRI, and PET scanning. Currently, we have programs for computational image analysis of lung cancer, mesothelioma, liver tumors (primary and metastatic), esophageal/gastric, pancreatic, renal and prostate cancers, and lymphoma.
My interests also include medical informatics, including Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS, for storing and displaying radiologic images). I serve on the Therapeutic Response Review Committee at MSKCC. Additionally, I am Chair of the Cancer and Leukemia Group B (CALGB) Imaging Committee, which evaluates the use of imaging with new cancer therapies.
