Paul Sabbatini, MD
I am a board certified internist and medical oncologist who cares for women with gynecologic malignancies including ovarian, uterine, and cervical cancers as well as other less common tumors.
My goal is to provide the highest quality in medical care with both standard and investigational treatments, and I participate in a variety of clinical trials aimed at improving the outcome for women with gynecologic cancer. I am an investigator in a variety of studies, but my personal research interest is to evaluate new approaches for ovarian cancer patients who are in remission after treatment. The goal of these studies is to prolong the remission and ultimately to prevent relapse. My colleagues and I are currently studying new drugs and agents such as vaccines that would help the immune system prevent the cancer from returning. I also evaluate immune targeted agents for ovarian cancer patients whose disease has returned after initial surgery and chemotherapy.
I am an investigator in all of the clinical trials on the Gynecologic Medical Oncology Service, which provide a wide range of options for patients with gynecologic cancer.
In addition to patient care, I participate in several committees for the Gynecology Oncology Group. I also serve as the Associate Chair for the Clinical Trials Office in the Department of Medicine at Memorial Sloan-Kettering where we work to insure that patients with all types of tumors have access to a wide variety of high quality clinical trials when they are appropriate.
