Oscar Lin
I am both a cytopathologist and a surgical pathologist. In the cytopathology field, my expertise is in both aspiration and exfoliative cytology. As a member of the fine needle aspiration service, I perform and interpret superficial fine aspiration biopsies. These biopsies are obtained through a thin needle with minimal complications and high sensitivity. They do not require an incision or a hospital stay and represent a safe alternative to open surgical biopsies. My research is focused on the identification and application of tumor markers in cytology specimens. In the surgical pathology field, I am particularly interested in neoplastic hematopathology, especially lymphomas.
I am also involved in education and am Medical Director of the MSKCC Cytotechnology School and Associate Director of the Cytopathology Fellowship Program.
