Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs, Department of Medicine; Program Director, Internal Medicine Residency Program
Having cancer and undergoing certain types of cancer therapy can increase the risk of infection. I am an infectious disease specialist who treats the full range of infections that can develop in cancer patients. I have a special interest in infections in the immunocompromised patient that are related to travel. My research focuses on the epidemiology of hospital-acquired infections, the investigation of risk factors for infection with drug-resistant organisms, and antibiotic control and antibacterial resistance.
