Susan K. SeoDirector, Antibiotic Management Program
I specialize in treating infections in patients who have weakened immune systems due to cancer, cancer therapy, or infection with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. As Director of Memorial Sloan-Kettering's Antibiotic Management Program, I work with pharmacists to ensure that antibiotics and other antimicrobial medications are prescribed and taken properly. This reduces the risk that microbes will become resistant to the medicines that are supposed to destroy them. I am also interested in the use of molecular techniques to aid in the surveillance of microorganisms in a hospital setting.
