Heiko Schoder
I am a nuclear medicine physician with special expertise in oncologic PET and PET/CT for clinical and research purposes, cardiac PET and PET/CT, and antibody treatment. I am involved in international radiologic societies including the Academy of Molecular Imaging (for which I organized the sections on clinical PET for the 2005 and 2006 meetings) and the Society of Nuclear Medicine (for which I organized a lecture series on bone imaging for the 2005 meeting).
My research interests include the development and evaluation of new methods for the early detection of lung cancer, the assessment of the role of PET imaging in the detection and follow-up of patients with head and neck cancer and lymphoma, and the introduction and clinical evaluation of new nuclear medicine imaging agents (radiotracers) for the detection of cancer. I am a member of the disease management teams for head and neck cancer and lymphoma, and I have organized and conducted several multidisciplinary research projects, including ongoing interdisciplinary PET research projects in prostate cancer.
