Martee L. Hensley, MD
I am a board-certified medical oncologist who treats women with gynecologic cancers. I have been on staff at Memorial Sloan-Kettering since 1998, working as part of a multidisciplinary team of doctors and nurses who care for women with these diseases. My research interests include identifying and testing novel therapies for recurrent ovarian cancer and uterine sarcomas. I also have a special interest in quality-of-life issues and treatment outcomes, and in the problems that women sometimes face after treatment for ovarian cancer. I am a principal investigator for several national research studies in these areas.
I am active in the Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG), a nonprofit organization that promotes the quality and integrity of scientific research in gynecologic cancers, and serve on a number of GOG committees including those dedicated to quality of life, cancer prevention and control, and uterine cancer. I am also active in the Sarcoma Alliance for Research through Collaboration (SARC), a nonprofit that facilitates research collaborations among sarcoma researchers and clinicians.
In addition to my medical training, I have a master's degree in epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health.
