I am a certified nuclear medicine physician with expertise in PET/CT and general nuclear medicine, including nuclear cardiology. Currently, I am an investigator in a research protocol using I-124, an investigational radiotracer, for lesion dosimetry in patients with metastatic thyroid cancer. I also am actively involved in the multidisciplinary thyroid conferences and in a project to determine whether PET imaging with radiolabeled (F18) fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) can predict the prognosis of patients with metastatic thyroid cancer.

I soon will be involved in a project evaluating the effects of bisphosphonate infusion on bone scans in patients with breast cancer who have osseous metastases. The results from this study will be used for evaluating the role of another radiotracer, Samarium 153 EDTMP, given for bone pain palliation in patients with metastatic breast cancer. My other research interest concerns the evaluation of the role of F18 FDG-PET in determining the extent of disease in patients with rhabdomyosarcoma.
