Diane L. Carlson, MD
Associate Director, Pathology Fellowship Program
As a board-certified surgical pathologist, I play a direct role not only in the diagnosis and staging of tumors, but also in treatment planning for patients with cancer. I diagnose tumors of the head and neck, as well as diseases of the breast.

I am an active member of the Head and Neck Disease Management Team, which unites physicians and other specialists in a multidisciplinary team to provide the best possible care to patients with head and neck cancers. I am also Associate Director of Memorial Sloan-Kettering's Pathology Fellowship Training Programs.

My research efforts include collaborative studies exploring the molecular mechanisms involved in the evolution of squamous cell tumors of the head and neck. I am also involved in studies designed to evaluate therapeutic agents and targets for several other forms of cancer.
