I am a medical oncologist who specializes in treating patients with lung cancer. I also perform translational research in the laboratory on non-small cell lung cancer. My primary interest lies in identifying mutations in genes that may play a role in lung tumors. I am also doing experiments to determine why some patients and not others respond to targeted therapies such as gefitinib (Iressa) and erlotinib (Tarceva). These studies will hopefully lead to improved ways to treat patients with non-small cell lung cancer.
