Director, Living Beyond Cancer: A Program for Adult Survivors of Pediatric Cancer
I am a primary care physician and director of MSKCC's Program for Adult Survivors of Pediatric Cancer. This program provides follow-up care for adults who had cancer during their childhood, adolescence, or young adult years.
In addition to providing health care for cancer survivors, I am involved in research to better understand the long-term health problems related to cancer and cancer therapy. We have two primary areas of focus: (1) cardiovascular disease following pediatric cancer, and (2) promoting cancer screening and optimizing follow-up care for cancer survivors.
I serve on the steering committee for the Childhood Cancer Survivor Study, a 26-institution cohort study supported by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) that is following about 14,000 long-term survivors of pediatric cancer. I also serve on the Cancer Control and Late Effects Steering Committees for the Childen's Oncology Group.
