Susan E. Krown
I am a medical oncologist who specializes in the treatment of malignant melanoma and the malignancies associated with AIDS and HIV infection. My major clinical interests are in developing better therapies for both melanoma and Kaposi's sarcoma. I have a particular research interest in translating laboratory research that investigates the causes of Kaposi's sarcoma, the most common AIDS-associated cancer, into new approaches to treatment. I have been very active in the leadership of the AIDS Malignancy Consortium, a National Cancer Institute research consortium, and I am currently head of its Human Papilloma Virus Working Group.
