Matthew I. Milowsky, MD
I am a board-certified medical oncologist who specializes in the treatment of genitourinary malignancies. I treat all types of cancers that affect the genitourinary system, and work as part of a multidisciplinary team treating these diseases.
My research involves developing and designing clinical trials to test novel agents for the treatment of urologic cancers. In particular I am working to develop new bladder cancer therapies that use targeted agents including anti-angiogenesis compounds, which cut off the tumor's blood supply.
I am the principal investigator of an ongoing research project supported by an American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Henry Shepard Grant for Bladder Cancer Research. This effort, titled the Bladder Cancer Oncogenome Project, aims to identify molecular alterations in bladder tumors that will serve as targets for individualized treatment strategies in patients with this disease.
