Dr. Satagopan’s consolidated program of methodological and collaborative research focuses on evaluating the genetic and environmental underpinnings of cancer and cancer-related traits. Her current research works include studies of genetic association and gene-environment interactions, investigation of multiple sets of correlated exposures in relation to cancer risk, and cost-effective study designs for epidemiology and tumor biology. Her statistical areas of research for addressing the scientific hypotheses in these studies include link functions in generalized linear models, parameter estimation in unbalanced analysis of variance, penalized regression, and shrinkage estimation. This research program is supported by a NIH-funded grant (R01CA137420). Dr. Satagopan is a Co-Editor (with RC Elston and S Sun) of the book Statistical Human Genetics, published by Humana Press of Springer during 2012 (ISBN: 978-1-61779-554-1). She is also an Associate Professor of Public Health at Weill Cornell Medical College.
