Sarah received a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Connecticut, Connecticut, in 2001 and a M.A. in Biology from the City University of New York at Queens College, New York in 2009. She has joined the lab as intern from the New York Bioscience/Biotechnology Technician Program at Hunter College in March 2008, and joined the laboratory as a full-time senior laboratory technician in June 2008.
She is involved in study aimed to distinguish clonal somatic events in patients with multiple primary tumors, and has genotyped SNPs for large-population based studies using low to medium throughput platforms. Sarah's activities include the design of assays, review of literature, and processing of specimens according to specific study requirements, and maintenance of existing biorepositories, instruments and inventories.
She enjoys being part of the Molecular Epidemiology Laboratory. New findings bring her motivation and passion towards cancer research.
