Jacqueline Wurst successfully defended her thesis in diversity-oriented synthesis entitled “Studies on the Stereoselective Synthesis of Glycal Derived Spiroketals” on April 17, 2011. Jackie’s family made the trip out from Minnesota for the event! Our thanks to her committee members Profs. Minkui Luo (chair), Howard Hang, and Gabriela Chiosis, who stepped in at the last minute. We also note that important contributions to this project were made by our late colleague, Prof. David Y. Gin, who sadly could not be with us for Jackie’s defense. Danielle Rose organized a wonderful party to celebrate Jackie’s accomplishments.

Congratulations Dr. Wurst!
