The laboratory has openings for highly motivated individuals for postdoctoral fellow positions. The individuals will join a small, but highly focused, research team studying the structure and function of eukaryotic ion channels and integral membrane enzymes.
Applicants should have a strong background in x-ray crystallography, biochemistry, or electrophysiology and a good publication record. The positions require a PhD in a related field and less than five years of postdoctoral experience. (Candidates with electrophysiological experience studying CRAC channels are especially encouraged to apply. Other candidates need not have expertise with membrane proteins.)
A successful candidate will be creative, motivated, and enjoy working independently as well as in a collaborative environment. Applicants must possess excellent communication skills and be fluent in both spoken and written English.
The posts will be held in the Structural Biology Program at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City with a competitive salary. Housing assistance can be provided. Our laboratory is equipped with state-of-the art facilities and we have access to several synchrotron resources including the nearby NSLS.
We are ideally located within a large biomedical center extending along York Avenue between 65th and 72nd Streets on Manhattan's Upper East Side. The center's institutions, which are committed to research training, include Cornell University Weill Medical College, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and The Rockefeller University, all of which contribute to a very exciting and stimulating environment for research.
Applicants should send a cover letter including a brief statement of research interests, curriculum vitae, up to three reprints, and three letters of reference.
