Nanotechnology Center: Mission & Goals

The Nanotechnology Center plans to accomplish its goal of developing nanotechnology for the treatment and diagnosis of cancer by bringing together relevant experts from both within and outside Memorial Sloan-Kettering, through the following activities to:

  • Coordinate and financially support nanotechnology research in basic science, in translational laboratories and core facilities, and on clinical teams
  • Expedite the translation of new discoveries by providing guidance to investigators on issues of intellectual property, support for collaborations with the pharmaceutical or nanotechnology industries on early-phase investigations, and help in managing the transfer of technologies from early-phase investigations to the clinical arena
  • Provide education and training to encourage new investigators to join the field of nanotechnology and help established investigators to share and improve their work
