Kannan Krishnamurthy is a licensing manager in the Office of Technology Development (OTD). Among his responsibilities, he manages the licensing of Memorial Sloan-Kettering's tangible materials.
Kannan joined the OTD in May 2012 in the newly created role of licensing assistant. Previously, Kannan was a postdoctoral fellow at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, where he studied the interaction between oncogenes and cell polarity pathways and its relevance to breast cancer. In addition, he carried out preclinical testing of a new class of inhibitors in a mouse model of breast cancer to evaluate toxicity and efficacy.
Kannan received his PhD degree in cell and developmental biology from the Medical College of Georgia in 2009. His prior research experience includes an internship at Eli Lilly and Company. Kannan obtained a Master of Science degree in biochemistry from M.S. University of Baroda, in India.
