Postdoctoral Research Training: Postdoctoral Community

Currently, more than 500 postdocs from many different countries are doing research in our laboratories. Within this vibrant community, there are plenty of opportunities to socialize, enjoy leisure activities, and play an active role in improving the professional and collegial environment for our postdocs.

The Memorial Sloan Kettering Postdoctoral Association

Since 2005, the Memorial Sloan Kettering Postdoctoral Association (MSK-PDA) has been working to enhance the quality of the postdoctoral experience at Memorial Sloan Kettering. The MSK-PDA is a board of postdoctoral scientists who are chosen through annual elections and work collaboratively with the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs, postdocs at the neighboring institutions (The Rockefeller University and the Weill Cornell Medical College) and other postdoc associations in the New York area.

The MSK-PDA maintains an active schedule of social events, sports activities, and fundraising initiatives to encourage interactions within our postdoctoral community. The MSK-PDA also advocates for the rights and interests of postdoctoral researchers, and helps develop new policies for postdoctoral training, professional development, compensation, and benefits.

Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Student and Faculty Club

A private club established in 1999, the Memorial Sloan Kettering Student and Faculty Club provides a warm and welcoming environment to enhance student and faculty interactions within the Memorial Sloan Kettering academic community. The club hosts regularly scheduled social events for graduate students, postdocs, and faculty.
