Research & Technology Management: Research Fund Management

Research Fund Management is responsible for the financial management and administrative coordination of organized research activities that are funded by both external sponsors and by Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and that are separately budgeted and accounted for within the Sloan-Kettering Institute.

This unit serves many functions, including:

  • Governing of institutional resources
  • Ensuring compliance with institutional and awarding agencies’ policies and regulations
  • Working with Research Financial Planning unit to develop and prepare the Sloan-Kettering Institute annual budget
  • Providing institutional oversight of the Time and Effort System as mandated by federal guidelines
  • Reviewing and approving all financial transactions requested by Sloan-Kettering Institute cost centers, including those related to personnel, supplies, capital equipment, and inter-institutional agreements
  • Communicating and negotiating administrative and financial issues with external agencies and collaborating institutions
  • Providing advice, administrative guidance, and information to the research community
