Research Outreach and Compliance (ROC) supports various outreach venues that help to facilitate research education and foster effective communication among all Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center research community constituents and beyond. This includes publishing two in-house weekly electronic newsletters, maintaining informative and up-to-date web resources, offering one-on-one or individualized group consultations on any aspect of policies and procedures, facilitating the application process for special prizes and awards, and sponsoring monthly workshops and seminars throughout the academic year on various topics related to issues of research integrity, compliance and administration, and technology development. ROC runs the annual Responsible Conduct of Research course and co-sponsors monthly Tri-Institutional Collaboration Network events.
ROC maintains a quality assurance program to ensure compliance with federal/state, external sponsor, and institutional regulations pertaining to grants and contracts management requirements associated with the responsible conduct of research. Additionally, ROC facilitates submission of human embryonic stem cell (hESC) research protocols to the Tri-SCI Embryonic Stem Cell Research Oversight Committee that must be reviewed to ensure that research is conducted in a manner consistent with and in compliance with established regulatory and institutional requirements.
