As Vice President of Research and Project Administration, Carol Slattery has overall responsibility for three interrelated units: Grants and Contracts, Research Fund Management, and Research Financial Planning. She provides oversight for the pre-award administration of research grants and contracts, post-award grant administration, the fiscal budget for the Sloan-Kettering Institute, and ongoing financial planning for the Memorial Sloan Kettering research enterprise.
Carol received an undergraduate degree in political science and a master’s degree in public policy analysis, both from the University of Rochester. She joined Memorial Sloan Kettering in 1991. Prior to joining ORPA, Carol served as the Administrator of the Human Oncology and Pathogenesis Program and the Program Administrator of the Geoffrey Beene Cancer Research Center. From 1998 through 2006, she was the Administrator of the Department of Surgery at Memorial Hospital.
