Cell biologist Michael Overholtzer was looking for genetic mutations in cancer cells when he observed a process called entosis, in which one living cell invades another and dies. In his laboratory at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Dr. Overholtzer is studying this phenomenon in the hope that a better understanding of entosis will one day lead to new ways to make tumor cells die.
