2007 Annual Report

At Memorial Sloan Kettering we build on the achievements of our past as we remain firmly focused on the future — a future embodied in the work of our gifted basic science investigators, physician-scientists, and other healthcare professionals who make seminal contributions to the understanding of cancer. The efforts of these dedicated men and women lead to the development of new and increasingly successful approaches to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer, improving and prolonging the lives of the patients we see today and those we will care for in years to come.

When concert pianist Janina Fialkowska was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma, our doctors used nerve-sparing techniques to save her arm.
