Full Title

Implementation and Effectiveness Trial of HN-STAR (CIRB)

Purpose

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is conducting this study to determine whether a web-based program called HN-STAR (Head and Neck Survivorship Tool: Assessments and Recommendations) can improve the ongoing care of patients who have completed treatment for head and neck cancer. Survivors of head and neck cancers were assigned to either the HN-STAR group, where healthcare providers managed these patients’ health through the HN-STAR computer program, or the usual care group, where patients received usual follow-up care services for survivors.

Researchers asked head and neck cancer survivors who participated in the study for permission to contact their primary care providers. The providers of patients who consented to this request are being inviting to participate in a phone interview with a research team member regarding the patient’s care about one year after the patient enrolled in the study. It is hoped that the information collected from primary care providers of head and neck cancer survivors will enhance the understanding of head and neck cancer care.

Eligibility

This study includes patients who completed treatment for head and neck cancer and their primary care providers.
