Andreas Wibmer, MD

About Me

I am a radiologist with expertise in body imaging for people with cancer. I am also experienced in collaborative disease management and research in advanced medical imaging. My goal is always to excel in teaching, caring for patients, and research.

My experience involves a combination of body imaging and molecular imaging. I interpret chest, abdomen, and whole-body CT, MRI, and PET imaging and I have worked at both European and American academic medical centers.

My research focuses on imaging primary prostate cancer and prostate cancer that has spread to another part of the body. I am interested in how imaging and advanced computational image analysis can be used as biomarkers to improve how we manage the disease.

I am honored to add my diverse experience and expertise to MSK’s Genitourinary and Gynecologic Disease Management Teams. These groups provide timely and accurate information on screenings, diagnoses, and follow-up for survivors. We offer guidance and support through tumor board decisions, where we all combine our expertise to ensure patients have the best possible outcome.

Most major health insurers offer plans that include MSK as one of their in-network providers. If MSK is in-network, it means all our doctors are too. Medicaid and New York State Medicare also provide benefits for care at MSK.
