I always knew that I wanted to be a physician. I was first drawn to oncology from the perspective of science and research. My motivation came from the search for an improved understanding of cancer as a disease, as well as the powerful science and technology harnessed to treat it. As I then began to work with people facing a cancer diagnosis and to understand their experience of living with the disease, I knew I wanted to dedicate my career to improving their lives through a focus on clinical care.

People who have been diagnosed with cancer are often concerned about the many unknowns that lie ahead: What treatments will be recommended? Will they experience side effects? What outcome can they expect? In short, they want to understand how their lives, as well as their loved ones’, will be impacted by cancer.

To help address these questions and concerns, I work alongside my patients and their families, as well as the rest of their medical team. Together, we can ensure their treatment plans are consistent with their values, will aim to heal, and will minimize the chance of harm.

When devising a treatment plan for my patients, it is important to explore all options. This includes, for some, clinical trials. At MSK Bergen and MSK Westchester, we offer trials across cancer types that incorporate the newest radiation technologies, including novel combinations of radiotherapy and targeted therapies or immunotherapy.

Once I meet with my patients and their families, I hope they feel comforted by having a clearer understanding of what lies ahead. Our entire team will be available before, during, and after their radiation treatment to ensure they have access to the care they need.

Outside of the office, I enjoy biking, running, playing tennis, and spending time with my wife and two sons.
