About Me

I am a board-certified medical oncologist with a practice devoted to the study and treatment of patients with all stages of breast cancer. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, I focus on providing patients with individualized treatment plans based upon the most up-to-date research, diagnostic tools, and therapies. As a physician, I am deeply committed to compassionate communication with each patient and to fostering an environment where patients can make informed decisions about their care. An important consequence of this is the empowerment of patients to select research options that are appropriate to their needs and goals.

My personal research focuses on the mechanisms by which breast cancer metastasizes and spreads to distant organs. My goal is to help translate laboratory discoveries regarding such metastasis into clinically meaningful treatments for patients at risk for and with metastatic breast cancer. Collaborating with our scientists, we hope to identify unique biomarkers that can help identify those women with early-stage breast cancer who are at particular risk for metastasis. For patients with metastasis, we are using our laboratory understanding of metastasis to develop more-effective and less-toxic treatments.

For my research, I have been awarded several peer-reviewed grants, includin the Susan B. Komen Postdoctoral Fellowship Award, an American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Merit Award, and a Young Investigator Award from the Conquer Cancer Foundation (ASCO). I am also an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Clinical Trials

Research is integral to our mission at Memorial Sloan Kettering, and clinical trials help us discover better forms of patient care and treatment. For you, this could mean access to a new therapy or therapy combination. Click to see a list of the trials I’m currently leading.

Insurance

Most major health insurers offer plans that include MSK as one of their in-network providers. If MSK is in-network, it means all our doctors are too. Medicaid and New York State Medicare also provide benefits for care at MSK.
