About Me

I am a dual board-certified radiologist and nuclear medicine physician who focuses on advanced imaging for people with breast cancer. I joined Memorial Sloan Kettering in 2009 after receiving an MD and PhD in cancer biology from Stanford University and completing my residency and fellowship training at Johns Hopkins and the University of Southern California.

As part of MSK’s breast cancer disease management team, I work closely with oncologists, surgeons, and pathologists to help provide the best clinical care for people with breast cancer. I also serve on MSK’s Institutional Review Board to help optimize patient safety.

I am the principal investigator of three prospective clinical trials of novel PET radiotracers for breast cancer patients, funded by a National Institutes of Health R01 grant, a Department of Defense Breast Cancer Research Programs Award, and a grant from the Susan G. Komen Foundation. These clinical trials use targeted imaging to help direct targeted therapy of cancer, including estrogen receptor- and HER2-targeted therapies. My work has been featured in top-rated journals including the Journal of Clinical Oncology, Clinical Cancer Research, Radiology, and the Journal of Nuclear Medicine. I serve on the editorial boards of Radiology, Journal of Nuclear Medicine, and Clinical Nuclear Medicine, and as a grant reviewer for the National Institutes of Health and the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Contributing to education is something I consider to be very important. I have received teaching awards at both MSK and Weill Cornell Medical School. I am the founder and director of MSK’s Oncologic PET/CT Continuing Medical Education course, which teaches PET/CT imaging to an international audience.

Clinical Trials

Research is integral to our mission at Memorial Sloan Kettering, and clinical trials help us discover better forms of patient care and treatment. For you, this could mean access to a new therapy or therapy combination. Click to see a list of the trials I’m currently leading.

Most major health insurers offer plans that include MSK as one of their in-network providers. If MSK is in-network, it means all our doctors are too. Medicaid and New York State Medicare also provide benefits for care at MSK.
